Healthy Recipes: A Lightened Up Thanksgiving!

Today's post focuses on finding healthy substitutions for your Thanksgiving favorites. The main event of Thanksgiving is the turkey, and luckily, turkey is pretty healthy! Stick to the breast meat and avoid the skin, and you've got a healthy protein. Just be careful what you pair with the turkey! Be sure to pick your favorites instead of eating everything that is laid out on the table. Take reasonable portions, eat slowly, and enjoy your day!

Starters:

  1. I made a lightened-up green bean casserole last year (the soup is from scratch, not a can), and it was phenomenal. That dish has always been my downfall at holiday meals, but I've never had it with so much flavor as I did when I used real, whole ingredients instead of processed goo! My hubby liked it so much, he requested it for Christmas and Easter, too. This year, we're going back to the mainland for the holiday, and that's the one dish he says he has to have on the table!
