- Visit the store or Farmers' Market and stock up on fresh produce. Immediately go home, wash and prep the fruits and veggies into individual serving sizes. You will be so much more likely to eat your vegetables if all the prep is complete!
- Involve your kids by making sure you have a "rainbow" of colors in your produce bin. The more colors, the more vitamins. Plus, it just looks pretty!
- Portion out heart-healthy almonds or make your own trail mix for on-the-go snacking.
- Make snack bins for your kids. When the kids need a snack, parent-approved healthy snacks are always ready to go! Some good items to have on-hand? Organic, fat-free yogurt, string cheese, hummus and carrots, orange segments, and pre-made "ants on a log" with natural peanut butter and raisins.
Plan your healthy snacks out ahead of time and you will succeed!
